September 30, 2013: Race Update and Information

Aloha 2013 Gunstock Racers: We hope your training is going well and that you are getting ready to tear it up on the trails of the Gunstock Ranch on October 19. Here are a few items of business to help you prepare for race day! Start Times We expect an increased number of runners this year and have decided to have a separate start time for the 5k. The half marathon will still begin at 7:00 a.m. and the 5k will begin at 7:15 a.m. We hope this will give the 5k runners a chance to really sprint the whole race without having to fight for position at the beginning of the race. We also hope this will help with any confusion about where the half marathon runners turn to continue running and the 5k goes straight to head to the finish line! We still expect all runners, including 5k runners, to be checked in by 6:30 a.m. Packet Pick-up and Registration We are going to add a North Shore Packet Pick up to our schedule this year for those of you who live closer to the race site in hopes to cut down on those of you picking up packets on race morning, and also allowing you a little extra sleep :) At Packet Pick Up you will receive your shirt, bib number, and athlete bag from sponsors. You will still need to pick up your timing chip on race morning so remember to get there in time for that. Tell your friends to register now while prices are still $40/$25 for the half marathon/5k. On Wednesday October 2 the price online increases to $50/35 through Saturday October 12 at midnight, at which time online registration is closed. Those who are not registered may still register at either packet up or race morning at the race between 5:00 and 6:30 a.m. for $60/$45. Water, Gatorade, PowerGel, and Powerbar. Once we know more specific flavors and which locations we will have certain items at, we will give you another update on this. You can also expect our usual buffet of after race snacks and treats! We will post more info soon.
